Speech and language therapy goes beyond diagnosing and treating speech delays and disorders. Our services also include literacy sessions to help connect spoken and written language. These sessions can improve reading fluency & comprehension, develop skills to improve learning disabilities, prepare students for standardized tests, develop writing skills for school, future employment, and more.
Anyone with a speech and language delay is at high risk for reading difficulties because they may have poor auditory, phonologic, and verbal memory skills. Our clinicians work on reading using the most up-to-date science of reading methodology. We target the essential phonological awareness skills that serve as a foundation for strong reading skills. We teach reading using explicit, systematic, multisensory techniques.
