Helping Children and Teens Speak for Themselves!

Get in Touch

MN PEERS social skills

Our next session begins in the fall of 2026

Social skills are not a mystery

Social skills are just like any other skill - cooking, juggling, playing a sport, a video game or a musical instrument - the more you learn and practice, the better you will get. Every week in PEERS®, group members learn and practice new skills. Practice often includes role plays and games

Social Skills that WORK!

Instead of hypothetical rules, PEERS® teaches ecologically valid strategies, skills observed in natural, everyday interactions and tested in real-world settings to ensure they actually work.

What PEERS® Helps Individuals Master:

  • Conversational Flow: Starting, maintaining, and exiting conversations naturally.
  • Friendship Building: Finding common interests and organizing get-togethers.
  • Social Dynamics: Navigating peer pressure, handling disagreement, and reading non-verbal cues.
  • Conflict Resolution: Managing teasing, bullying, and cyber-bullying effectively.

These tried-and-true tools don't just help adolescents; they provide a lifelong foundation for making friends, building confidence, and navigating social and professional settings well into adulthood.

Parent & Caregiver Support: Parents and caregivers will participate in a separate virtual group. Each teen who joins will have a parent or caregiver accompany them as their "social coach." Each week, social coaches will learn the same material as their teens and receive guidance on how to support them effectively in a separate group. Every teen who joins will also have a parent or caregiver join as their "social coach." Each week, social coaches will learn the same material as their teens and receive guidance on how to support their teen.

Enrollment and Fees

PEERS® is similar to a semester-long course in terms of lesson quality, curriculum, and educators. With a staff of 3-5 SLPs and co-facilitators per class, we take pride in providing a uniquely valuable learning opportunity.

Intake:

A 50-minute meeting with the parent(s)/caregiver(s) plus the teen or young adult to make sure everyone has a good understanding of how PEERS® can help and what to expect. The intake costs $190. Once we complete the intake (and paperwork), you are officially enrolled.

Our Services

Our Services

12 weeks of meetings for the teen group, plus a parent/caregiver group. The total cost for the combined sessions (24) is 1600. If a family needs to discontinue the program for any reason, we do not offer refunds. This cost covers participation for both the teen and the parent/caregiver.

What to Expect: PEERS for Teens

  • Your Goals, Your Life: PEERS® isn't about arbitrary rules—it's designed around what you want out of your social life. Like anything else, the more you put in, the more confidence and connection you'll gain.
  • Interactive, Not a Lecture: We skip the boring presentations. Expect lively discussions, active participation, and real-world skill-building using interactive Q&As.
